"I thought I gave you the passport"

BIGGG WEEK!!! This may have been the best week I've had so far on the mission, tons to talk about!  -Tuesday morning we woke up to an eerie clicking sound coming from the bathroom. What at first we thought was water dripping was actually just a bat in our bathtub! At 7 am I wasn't too big on chasing a bat around so I'm glad he was enjoying his rest in the bathroom. We ended up capturing him with a plastic box (featured below) and a piece of cardboard. Unfortunately the windows in the bathroom were closed, so he must've gotten in somewhere else and traipsed through the piso. Just grateful he ended up in the bathtub and none of us have contracted any weird diseases.  -We had a lesson with a lady named Marisella. She has a daughter in Utah that is a member and so we began (weeks ago) answering some of her questions. We are working really slowly to try to get her progressing, but she is a stubborn one haha. She "believes it all," but just not the church part. Not ...

Amigos en la Capilla!

Image
That's right we had lots of amigos at church this week!!! A friend from the street, lots of friends of members, and the husband of our baptismal date and her family! After so long of frankly sad attendance, it was so good to have a packed chapel. It was especially good to see the family of our friend who wants to be baptized. We want to help families, not just individuals, grow connections to God and to each other.  Lots of finding this week. I'm getting a lot better at talking to random people and we are much more effective with our time. Sometimes we are super busy, running from appointment to appointment, and sometimes they all cancel so we have to figure something else out. That's just the ebb and flow of the work I guess.  In other news, we put the Christmas Tree up this week!!! Just kinda bored on Saturday, so I figured, why not? I just love Christmas and it gives our piso a little bit of life.  We had an activity this week with the youth from the ward and play...

Cáceres Round 2 🥊🥊

Image
Transfer News: We're staying!!! Cáceres round 2 baby, same comp, same area, a whole different energy. Lokey Cáceres might've won the first round, but round two is knockout sí o sí. Everyday is getting better and better and this last week was genuinely very fulfilling. Unfortunately we lost Elder Zuniga down in Badajoz and he is being replaced by Elder Bringa who is in his 3rd transfer. It's a young team this year, but lots of potential! (My comp has more time on the mish than all the district combined). Not a lot of photos this week, but lots of great work. We were pretty busy which helps everything to be more fun. Our go-to this week was meeting our friends in the park, and walking over to the chapel. It's an easy way to introduce the church and we're pros now as we probably did it at least 5 times this week.  We had exchanges with the ZL's this week which was such a blast! They are wonderful missionaries and helped us so much. I was with Elder Pavon from Hondu...

Cáceres Spain!

Hey everyone, I hope you're doing amazing, It feels like a just sent my last email, but wow it's  already been a whole month here in Spain. Wow it's hard to describe what has occurred in the past month, I'm afraid my heart may not survive another two years of this, but poco a poco is how it goes here!  Ok let's start by getting some vocab out of the way here! AREA- I was called to a mission (Spain Madrid, South), which is huge, and there's about 200 missionaries here. Within the mission there are zones, and within zones are districts and finally within districts are areas. An area is the place where just my companion and I are located. TRANSFER- Every 6ish weeks they call us and tell us if we're being transfered. Typically you stay 2 or 3 transfers in a given area and spend 1 or 2 transfers with a given companion.  WHITE WASHING- Typically with transfers, one companion leaves, one stays and shows the new one the area, the places, the people, and the friends....

Soy Yo y Nunca Cambiaré

Hey everyone, I hope you're doing fantastic! I still have yet to come up with a structure for these that makes sense, but let me tell you a little about my week here in Cáceres, Spain.  The start of my week began in Sevilla again! We had a conference with our zone and spent part of the day training and the other part exploring Sevilla and looking for mate cups. Mate is like an herbal tea, from South America, that tastes like dirt frankly, but obviously I had to get it for the memories. It's growing on me too. The next day we had exchanges with Badajoz and ate GOOOODDD. I actually have about no money now, but it was super fun. I spent the day with Elder Zuñiga and he is hilarious and I learned a lot.  We had a lesson with a lady named Beatriz this week. She is a friend of the member from Peru. She is amazing and wants to be baptized, but needs to be married first. In fact, 3 of the 3 dates we have right now need to be married! A little bit difficult, but hopefully we can connec...

Sois Hermanos?

Sorry no structure on this. Here we go! This last P-Day we met with other Elders and explored the city of Badajoz. We got to explore the city, and when our train tickets were messed up we even stayed over at their piso. We also got to teach a lesson to this awesome guy over there. Later in the week, when he found out he needed to be married to his girlfriend to be baptized, he walks into her room, we're on a FaceTime mind you, and asks if she would want to get married. She said yes!!! Kind of the most wild proposal ever, but it worked!  This week we visited some members home and I got to share some spiritual thoughts. I'm grateful for any practice we can get here because lessons are a little rare here in Cáceres. I also gave my first priesthood blessing and it was in Spanish haha. Never a day here where I'm not wildly out of my comfort zone, it's awesome.  One of the lessons we did have this week was taking our amigo Jaime out to all you can eat pizza at Dominos haha. T...
