And then there were 3

Image
Our little family has grown to happy 3 this week! This last Friday we received Elder Gonzalez from Colombia and now we'll be a trio for the transfer. That also means I'll be staying in Malaga for another month! It's a little crazy to be in a trio and to be training 2 elders at once, but I'm super excited and we're gonna learn a lot! Elder Gonzalez is hilarious and I get to keep practicing my Spanish. My two companions are 22 and 24 so I'll be the baby of the group, but oh well.  This week I don't have a lot to share as work has slowed down a little bit, but it's still been great. We are working a lot with our recent converts and it's so fun to watch as their knowledge deepens and they begin to "connect the dots" so to speak.  This last P day we went to Fuengirola and made arepas and played basketball. The only photos from this week are those that my companion took there, so enjoy! Oh also sorry for being out of order, but this last Friday w...

Baptisms of Boni and Franklin!

Image
That's right! Franklin and Boni were both baptized this Sunday in a very beautiful service. Two recent converts to the church were able to do the baptisms as they have made good relationships with the friends and it is wonderful to see the chain of friendships deepened by the Gospel of Jesus Christ that connects them. Franklin shared his testimony after the baptism about how we must be disciples for life. Although weekly attendance to the church is necessary, even laudable, he taught us that we must also share the joy we have received with others and invite all to come unto Christ. Boni also shared a more tender testimony of how those she had met in the church had been a great support to her, and thanks to their almost familial love, she had decided to take this step of baptism. Another friend named Mari came to the baptized and loved it! She tried to come to the church a week ago, but got lost haha. I sent a sister from the ward on a rescue mission and she was able to come to seco...

Scuba Diving to Find Friends 🐋☔️

Let me just start by apologizing for the lack of photos this week. I have become way to accustomed to the beauty of Málaga and have stopped taking photos. We have basically just been soaked all week long with lots of storms, but it's still been super awesome! This Thursday, we went to Marbella and spent the morning finding lots of people! It was actually like hurricane weather, but it was super fun to be as a district and I spent the day with my old trainer: Elder Price!   Franklin has continued to progress super well and should be getting baptized this Sunday! He tried on his baptism clothes this past Friday and opened his family search account. He is planning to go to the temple with the ward and even brought a friend to church! He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and will be such a blessing to the ward. This past Sunday, Boni, the niece of a member who has been on and off taking the lessons for 4 months, told us that she wants to be baptized this Sunday. We were a li...

Uusi Kollega 🇫🇮

Image
How are we doing? Another exciting week here in Málaga! On Tuesday I spent the day traveling to Madrid to get my new companion and spent the night there. Wednesday morning it snowed in Madrid and must have been a sign, because my new companion is from Finland! We ate breakfast with the new missionaries and then we presented our areas and received our new companions. Two hours later, we were on a bus ride back to Málaga!  It will be an adventure to be doing all the work without the help of an older missionary or someone that speaks Spanish -haha- but we're here to learn!  This week we had a few lessons with our friend named Franklin. We taught the commandments and he accepted them so readily. He is so prepared for his baptism! He has been traveling to church with our recent converts that live in his same town and we asked that one of them do his baptism which will be so special! He should be getting baptized on the 15th of February.  This morning we hiked up to a view...
